I studied BA (Hons) Photography at Nottingham Trent University between 2009-2012.  My dissertation was titled Interpreting Charged Imagery, and is an exploration into the complications we face when interpreting photographs, and how these complications are magnified when the images are sexually charged or depict violence.

Due to the nature of the essay, it contains images that some may find offensive or disturbing, including pornography and images of torture.

Interpreting Charged Imagery is available to read online in the following guises:

  1. View online in HTML, with annotations and links
  2. View online in its original formatting (requires flash)
  3. Download as a PDF (right click, choose ‘Save as’ or similar)

I received a First for my dissertation.  Comments are disabled for this section of the site, but if you wish to contact me regarding my dissertation then you can do so via the Contact Page.
